Canon M50
img: CameraWorld
[13Mar21] My camera of choice when I go out with nothing particular in mind is the Canon G5X (Mk1) bought on eBay for two hundred and something. It is small, easy to handle, has a decent EVF and produces good results. Most of I&P Asg.3 is being done on it, especially chance encounters. I have found that people are more likely to agree to a photo of their dog (and them) with a small, unintimidating camera but also take it more seriously than an iPhone snap. That's subjective, of course.
I have been giving some thought to Canon's M50 which shares the same qualities with the bonus of changing lenses and, as the Mk2 has just been announced, there will be some bargains in the near future. I am keeping an eye on prices.
There's a converter available to use EF lenses.
[17Mar] I found a nice example well priced at Ffordes (though I still mourn selling them my Pentax 6x7) which arrived today. I have a 15-45 on the way from MPB, due tomorrow. And a cheap EF converter (missing the tripod attachment), a Fotodiox Leica M39 adaptor for my old Zorki 4 lens and a K&F adaptor for my several Olympus OM MF primes.
